The New York City Department of Education has voted that this is indeed the case. On January 19th, the Panel for Educational Policy approved the co-location of Millennium Brooklyn at the John Jay campus.
Millennium Brooklyn is said to be selective, screened, and the only way that the 3 existing schools in the building can receive capital improvements that the Department of Education admits the century-plus old building needs.
We want to know why these 3 schools that serve low-income, "minority" students had to wait until now to receive the needed facility improvements? And, why we must await the arrival of an elite Brooklyn school, when there are already three schools in the building more than happy to increase their respective populations?
